ATI Radeon HD 5800 from AMD

ATI Radeon HD 5800 from AMD AMD has released its next generation of ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics card that supports Microsoft DirectX 11, play again and calculate standard shipping soon with Windows 7.

AMD will initially launch two cards - the ATI Radeon HD 5870 and ATI Radeon HD 5850 - each with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory. With ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics cards, PC users can expand their computing experience with several ATI Eyefinity display technology and accelerate their computing experience with ATI's Stream technology, AMD said.

ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics card delivers up to 2.72 teraflops of computing power on a single card, translating performance in recent games, DirectX 11 and DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL titles configurations on a single card or multiple card configurations with ATI CrossFire, AMD said.

ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphics card with support for add-in board companies, including Asustek Computer, Club 3D, Diamond Multimedia, Force3D, Gigabyte, HIS, Micro-Star International (MSI), Multimedia, PowerColor, Sapphire, Sapphire and XFX.

We will explore with the community of enthusiastic comments after his post to get an idea about the performance of the new Radeon, but AMD claims a performance advantage of the new cards on average 30 to 50 percent of the price competitiveness Nvidia counterparts. These gains do not feed the results to take into account the many new features that come with the new AMD chips.

We have already reported on AMD technology Eyefinity with multiple monitors. You'll have to wait for a special Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity out "soon" to support six displays, as described above, but AMD says that while the standard Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5850 supports up to three monitors running 2560 each x1, 600, a common resolution for 30-inch screens.

We are unclear whether you can run four or more monitors today across two Radeon HD 5800 System through AMD's CrossfireX technology homed, but the only option DisplayPort card has six outputs, and require that all six DisplayPort that can display or a series of expensive adapters DisplayPort. To cover a game until a 7680 x1, 600 (three screens in 2560 x1, 600) configuration, the game will be to support and generous resolution on the screen. AMD says it has confirmed more than 100 PC games that can support your technology Eyefinity (yes, as World of Warcraft), but no performance data or test configurations provide entertaining games in the highest resolution in 7680 claimed x3 200 .
