2010 Mitsubishi Outlander debuts in Australia

Updated and facelifted Mitsubishi Outlander range has been announced for Australia, which offers a bold new look, more advanced transmissions and a renovated interior.

Inspired by the aggressive snout of high-performance Lancer Evolution X, the headlights on the grill and close combat aircraft of the new trapezoidal 'Add a sense of dynamism to meet the 2010 Outlander.

Hood and front quarter panels are brand new pictures, mirror housing, side skirts and rear bumper are all new.

The 2.4-liter MIVEC four-cylinder from the previous model gives virtually unchanged for 2010, producing 125 kW of power at 6000rpm and 226 Nm at 4100rpm.

The 3.0-liter MIVEC V6 engine is similar to that replaced, but a multiple-restricted diet, a higher compression ratio and camshaft power adjustments when hit by 7kW to 169kW, 276Nm with a couple of 291Nm increase.

Mitsubishi Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive technology is now coupled with the 3.0 V6 and has an active limited-slip front differential and the ability to distribute torque between the wheels to improve traction.

Standard 2.4 will be available in LS, XLS and XLS Luxury variant is paired with a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic on the base LS - training in XLS and XLS Luxury.

3.0 comes in virtual reality and appearance VRX and is mated to a six-speed automatic as standard. All cars are equipped with training and residents will also have a new-for-2010 Support for the Hill-Start function, which prevents roll back, while outside on the slopes.

V6 VR equipment receives all the LS model, plus a set of fog lamps, reverse parking sensors, alloy pedals and upgraded interior trim. The range-topping VRX model similar specced to luxury XLS, even MMCS by default.

2010 Mitsubishi Outlander series officially launched here on 29 September. There will be some price adjustments in line, however, the precise details of price changes will be announced closer to launch.
